A Notebook or Laptop offers both pros and cons compared to a desktop computer. A Laptop is compact and offers mobility but as a rule is also less powerful than a similarly priced desktop PC. A basic configuration consisting out of any Intel or AMD processor, 2GB memory, a 100GB harddisk and a normal graphics card is in most cases enough for normal use like; MSN, surfing, Windows Office and basic picture editing.
However if you also want to play games or edit movies it's smart to get a laptop with faster processor, more memory, bigger harddrive and a graphics card with 256MB videomemory or more.
